Chiara Marie Miranda Dimla

Associate Professor

University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMCI), Philippines

A/Prof Chiara Marie Miranda Dimla is an Associate Professor and a former faculty member of the Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine, UERMMMCI (University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc.), Philippines. On completing her Masters of Science in Public Health, she transitioned to the Department of Preventive and Community Medicine in the same college, where she currently enjoys teaching topics on disease prevention and control, epidemiology, research methodology, and community medicine. She has presented award-winning papers and continues with her advocacy for health research by supervising student and resident-trainee research projects, and by serving in their institutional ethics review board.

A/Prof Dimla fulfilled many administrative assignments in both the academe and the hospital, including as the Director for Quality and Patient Services/Director for Medical Services, UERM Hospital. She is also a Board-Certified Pediatrician.

Assistant Dean (Students)

Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSoM), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore

Dr Inthrani Raja Indran is the Assistant Dean (Students) at YLLSoM, where she plays a pivotal role in fostering student development and resilience, preparing them to face the challenges of medical education and their future careers as healthcare professionals. As a Newfield/Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Associate Coach, she is dedicated to guiding students in not only to manage the rigors of medical school but also to emerge as well-adjusted colleagues and mentors for future generations of healthcare professionals.

As a Senior Lecturer and the Education Director in the Department of Pharmacology at YLLSoM, Dr. Indran advocates for innovative medical education and works to integrate evidence-based teaching methods into the pharmacology curriculum to enhance the educational experience of her students.

​

Dr. Indran’s research has been focused on understanding and addressing disruptive behaviour within healthcare systems. She has led local studies on the prevalence, causes, and impact of such behaviour in Singapore’s healthcare environment, raising national awareness and highlighting the need for effective measures to mitigate its effects. Through this research, she has contributed to developing interventions and policies aimed at improving healthcare environments.​

Neil Osheroff

Professor of Biochemistry & Medicine

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, USA

Professor Neil Osheroff is Professor of Biochemistry and Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and holds the John G. Coniglio Chair in Biochemistry. In addition to running his research laboratory, he has been a medical school course director since 1990, co-directs the pre-clerkship phase, and is a Past-Director of the Academy for Excellence in Education. Internationally, he is a Past-President of the Association of Biochemistry Educators, and also the Past-President of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE). Professor Osheroff has received awards for mentoring, teaching, curricular design, educational leadership and service, and promoting diversity and inclusion. He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Association for Medical Education in Europe. He has published 285 papers and has presented more than 400 scientific and educational talks in 42 different countries.

Celestial T. Yap Suen Mei

Physiology Programme Director

Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSoM), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore

A/Prof Celestial T. Yap is the Physiology Programme Director for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore, and Medical Science Lead of the Respiratory System-Block Workgroup, which fosters integration between medical sciences and clinical practice in respiratory medicine. She is also Principal Investigator of the Cytoskeleton and Tumour Biology Laboratory at the NUS Centre for Cancer Research, with a focus on biomedical derangements underlying cancer recurrence and spread.

 

Previously serving in hospitals and primary healthcare, A/Prof Yap now serves in committees overseeing mentoring, curricula and assessments. A recipient of several Education and Public Service awards at national, university and faculty levels, A/Prof Yap is also active in spearheading educational efforts in compassionate well-being. Her experiences in education, research, clinical medicine and psychological health have engendered her endeavours to build a culture of holistic professionalism, through integrative approaches to health.
